Children are a top priority at Ascension Church. We strive to give them a good church experience where they learn about God, the Bible, worship, and community fellowship. We strive to provide an exciting and informative program for them with trained and enthusiastic teachers. We also make sure that they are in a safe and positive religious environment. (The Rev. Sunday school Classes and Nursery will resume in September 2022!
Our Nursery will be resume on September 4, 2022. Hours are 9:30am-12noon,
For infants up to 4 years old. Our paid staff person, Ana Rodriguez, is a professional child care provider in her day job at The Takoma Park Child Development Center where she works with the 18 month-2 year old children. Our nursery is located in the Sunday school hallway in the lower level of the parish hall .
Sunday school classes will resume on September 11, 2022! We will have separate Classes for
K-1st-2nd grade
3rd-4th-5th grade
6th-7th-8th grade
High school Girls class
High School Boys Class
We meet in the classrooms located in the lower level of the parish hall, each sunday from 10am-11am. The students join the congregation at the Peace time for the rest of the service.
We use the Episcopal Church Curricula for teaching.
Teachers are church volunteers who give of their time-talent-treasures to our children. The commitment is for one Sunday, each month for only one hour. If you are interested, please contact Leticia Read ([email protected])
