Our Sunday worship services use contemporary language from the Holy Eucharist Rite II liturgies from The Book of Common Prayer. On occasion, we also use liturgies from Enriching our Worship (supplemental texts approved by the National Church) and The New Zealand Prayer Book. Our lectionary texts from the Bible are taken from The Revised Common Lectionary.
Sundays
8:00 AM - Holy Eucharist. This is a smaller and more contemplative service without music. Average attendance is 25-35 people.
10:00 AM - Holy Eucharist. This is our larger service with Choir and Music. Average attendance is 100-150 people. This service usually hosts families with children and youth.
On the first Sunday of every month, the Healing Rite is offered at both services for those who would like the laying on of hands and a prayer for healing either for oneself or others.
Wednesdays
12:00 PM - Holy Eucharist and Healing Rite. Location: Church.

Church of the Ascension welcomes the opportunity to discuss meeting your pastoral needs in terms of Marriages (Heterosexual, Same-Sex, Interfaith), Renewal of Marriage Vows, House Blessings, Burials and Memorial Services, Blessing of Animals, and other pastoral rites.

SUMMER WORSHIP AT 10:00 AM
*Please make a note that from June 13th - September 5th our 10:00am service is held in our parish hall during the summer months because the sanctuary is not air conditioned.
