Our chancel choir is blessed to have as our Minister of Music, Mr. David Cato, a talented musician.

The Choir rehearses regularly on Tuesday nights from 7:15-9:30 PM and sings at the 10:30am service on Sundays.

The Choir also sings at other seasonal worship services during Christmas and Holy Week and offers several Choir Concerts throughout the year for the church and surrounding community.

During the summer months, while the choir does not rehearse and sing formaly at the 10:30am service, it is a time for individual singers and musicians to offer their gifts as solosits to the glory of God.

Also, during the summer, David offers a symposium to teach people how to reach and sing music of different varieties. There is no expectation that those who attend this symposium will join the choir. It is simply an offering for those who want to learn more about music and have fun!

David also teaches piano and voice during the week at the church for a fee.

Ascension is also blessed to have other music ministries such as the COTA Recorder Group and Guitar Ministry. These groups play on occasion during worship services, at special dinners such as our Mardi Gras event, and our annual Spaghetti Dinner Talent Night.

The Ascension Chorale

The Ascension Chorale celebrates the human voice and its power to Unite, Enrich, and, Inspire by performing an ever-widening repertory of choral music for our parish community which will include religious madrigals and classical motets. The members, selected by audition include the following:
