Music is a vital part of our life in worship and fellowship at Ascension.
This adult choir provides music for all choral services during the year. The Chancel Choir sings music ranging from early polyphonic Latin music, to mid-18th and 19th century traditional pieces, to contemporary and jazz offerings. The choir rehearses Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays at 9:00 a.m. in the church.
This choir for children and youth (ages 5 to 14) gives our younger parishioners an opportunity to praise God in song on major Holy Days.
The Guitar Group provides both contemporary and traditional guitar music for one service each month and other services as scheduled. They rehearse one evening each month. Their repertoire encompasses a range of devotional folk songs, spirituals, and hymns.
Ascension encourages members of the parish who play musical instruments to offer their gifts of music during the worship services.
