Map to Church of the Ascension

The Church of the Ascension is located at 633 Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring (between Georgia and Piney Branch Avenues). The church office is located in Ascension House at 634 Silver Spring Ave.

Directions

From the Beltway (I-495):

  1. Take exit 31B (Route 97 South, Georgia Ave.). Hint: If you're in the right lane on Georgia Ave., move into one of the left lanes as soon as you can. After a couple of blocks, the right lane turns off into 16th St.
  2. Continue on Georgia Ave. through downtown Silver Spring to the traffic light at Sligo Ave (just before the train bridge over Georgia). Turn left onto Sligo.
  3. Continue on Sligo for two blocks. The church is on the left side of the street, between Sligo House apartments and Vince's Agnes Flower Shop.

From DC:

  1. Take Georgia Ave. north to Sligo Avenue (the first traffic light after the train bridge over Georgia). Turn right at the light.
  2. Continue on Sligo through the light at Fenton Street.
  3. Continue on Sligo for two blocks. The church is on the left side of the street, between Sligo House apartments and Vince's Agnes Flower Shop.

Parking

Parking is available on the street in front of the church (along Sligo Avenue) or behind the church (on Silver Spring Ave). On Sundays, the parking lot for the elementary school is available (directly across Silver Spring Avenue from the church) and provides a convenient option. The circular driveway directly in front of the church is available for handicapped parking. If you park on the street, pay attention to the signs; parking regulations are strictly enforced in Silver Spring.
