Ascension is committed to spiritual formation which is to empower people to develop their spiritual inner selves as well as discern and discover their spiritual gifts.

Through spiritual formation, we strive to address that hunger that each of us has to draw closer to God and to others through prayer, dialogue, and honest self-examination.

At present - there are several opportunities, in addition to the other ministries of Ascension, to focus on spiritual formation.

A Mini-Retreat is offered the 3rd Wedneday of every month from 9:30am-11:45am (location: Parish Hall.) Different presenters present on different topics pertaining to the spiritual life. A continental breakfast is served. All are welcome! FOR DETAILS PLEASE go to Calendar & Upcoming Events.

Seasonal programs offere throughout the year also provide opportunities for spiritual growth such as our Advent series, Lenten series, and summer program offering.

Resident is Terri Murphy, our Director of Religious Education, who is a Shalem Institute trained spiritual director. Terri is often available by appointment for individual spiritual direction.

Resident is also our Rector, The Rev. Dr. Joan Beilstein, also a seasoned spiritual director who is available by appointment for spiritual guidance and for those seeking "The Rite of Reconciliation for a Penitent" (i.e., private confession.)
