At Ascension, we believe that faith formation is lifelong and includes classroom as well as experiential learning.
This special worship service for children ages four to seven is offered during the first part of the 10:00 a.m. service each Sunday. Led by parents and Sunday School teachers, Children's Chapel offers song, prayers, storytelling, and special activities until 10:30 a.m., when children join their parents in church for holy communion.
Sunday School for children from kindergarten to grade eight begins at 11:00 a.m. Children receive holy communion first with their teachers and then depart the service for classes.
The Adult Formation program follows the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service, except during the summer. These informal sessions are held in the Parish Hall.
EFM is a four-year course developed by the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. It offers a deep foundation for the Christian faith in combination with fellowship and reflection. EFM meets every Tuesday and Wednesday, except during the summer. The course requires an annual commitment and a fee to cover educational materials.
This is a comprehensive program of Christian formation, fellowship, service, and confirmation preparation for youth (ages 12 to 18).
